Bodh Gaya Community Toilets

A few kilometers away from the Mahabodhi Temple, the residents of the Durgapur Basti in Bodhgaya Nagar Panchayat are living without access to any form of sanitation services. The residents of the area, specifically women and children are in poor-health conditions due to the lack of Sanitary facilities.

The project provides for a Toilet Block made of 750 recycled plastic blocks which equals to the utilization of 1600 kgs of plastic waste. The toilets have been designed to be inclusive and disabled friendly. The project also integrates a rainwater harvesting system, that can collect and store upto 53,000 litres per year for washing purposes.
